Partner UP is an evidence-based advocacy practice created to cultivate government actions to respond to the needs of vulnerable children and their families. The practice relies on high-level lobbying and policy engagement with political and technical actors who are outside the national context, with the goal for them to influence political and technical actors inside the national context. Partner UP offers local civil society a way to expand its influence on national-level policymaking and priorities by leveraging external partnerships with global actors who share local civil society’s interest in seeing national-level reforms.
This guide includes practical, tangible tools and resources to encourage wider advocacy engagement directed at the external donor community, engagement that moves beyond the usual funding requests to instead employ collaborative partnerships to influence national governments.
